The Signal Summit Conference

The Signal Summit Conference is led by Shamir Medical Center’s Prof. Elad Anter for the first time

Prof. Elad Anter, a global expert in the field of arrhythmias, recently joined the Shamir Medical Center in order to establish a unique institute in Israel for the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias that will combine advanced treatment methods, technological innovation, and academic excellence.

Last December, Prof. Anter represented the Shamir Medical Center at the international Signal Summit conference, held in Chicago. The annual conference was founded by Prof. Anter in 2016, during his tenure as a doctor and senior researcher at Harvard University in Boston. “The conference has become one of the largest meetings in electrophysiology. The gathering of various top medical professionals from around the world helps to bridge gaps between scientific disciplines and builds ongoing collaborations. The conference is a huge success, and we are constantly looking for ways to develop better patient care,” says Prof. Anter.

This year, the conference focused on scientific innovations in the field of atrial fibrillation, on new knowledge in the field, and the development of innovative technologies for the treatment of arrhythmias. The conference serves as an incubator for the formation of international research relationships, and the creation of new platforms for the development of treatment methods for complex arrhythmias. During the conference, new mapping and ablation (burning) methods, which may improve the accuracy and efficiency of the therapeutic catheters for arrhythmias, were also presented. Prof. Anter presented a study from his lab, in which he described an innovative algorithm that can help accurately locate multifocal arrhythmias.

The scientific and technological innovations from this conference translate into fruitful research and technological innovation at the Shamir Medical Center, where the newest and most complex treatments for the treatment of arrhythmias are delivered.
