Women and Maternity Division

The Women and Maternity Division at the Shamir Medical Center provides women with the full range of services in obstetrics, gynecology, and fertility. The division includes the Women’s Department, maternity departments, an advanced ultrasound unit, and fertility units for both women and men.

Fertility Department

This department includes an advanced and highly reputable In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Unit, alongside the Male Fertility Center, which also includes the hospital’s sperm bank.

Helmsley Women’s Emergency (Gynecological ER)

The Women’s Emergency Department, also known as the Gynecological ER, operates within the Women and Maternity Division. It provides 24-hour care for gynecological issues. The emergency department treats urgent cases and pregnant women up to the 22nd week of pregnancy, while pregnant women beyond the 22nd week are referred directly to the maternity emergency department for diagnosis and treatment.


Women’s Department

The Women’s Department coordinates all surgical activity in gynecology, except cesarean sections, which are performed in the maternity division. The department provides treatments for complications such as ectopic pregnancies, pelvic infections, pelvic pain caused by gynecological conditions, and other gynecological complications.


Gynecological Endoscopy Unit

Established in 1997, this is one of the most advanced and active units in Israel.
It performs minimally invasive gynecological surgeries using advanced systems and equipment.


Gynecology Clinic

The gynecology clinic at the Shamir Medical Center functions both as a general gynecology clinic and as a cervical clinic.


Neuro-Urology, Pelvic Floor and Female Urology Clinic

Established in early 2010 and headed by Prof. Kobi Stav, the clinic treats diseases related to functional problems, such as urinary incontinence in men and women and surgical and medical treatments for lower urinary tract disorders
