A breast lift surgery corrects the natural sagging of the breasts. Its purpose is to reshape them to appear firmer, fuller, and uplifted to the patient’s satisfaction. In many cases, breast lift surgery is combined with augmentation, since lifting alone may not maintain long-term results.
It is therefore essential to consult with the surgeon before the procedure to align expectations and understand the surgery’s outcome. If the patient prefers not to enlarge the breasts, she should be aware that another lift might be needed after several years due to natural tissue stretching.

The best results are achieved in women with small, sagging breasts. If the patient plans future pregnancies, it is advisable to postpone the surgery to prevent stretching from pregnancy or breastfeeding. It should be noted that this procedure does not affect future pregnancies or breastfeeding.

The Breast Lift Procedure

Before surgery, the surgeon meets with the patient to discuss and determine the best surgical approach. The surgical strategy is based on the degree of sagging and the patient’s wishes.
The surgery duration also depends on the degree of sagging and typically takes 2–4 hours.
The operation is usually performed under general anesthesia, though mild cases may be treated under local anesthesia to the breast itself.
