Rhinoplasty (Nose Reshaping)

At the Department of Plastic Surgery, most of our patients seek rhinoplasty for aesthetic improvement or to correct functional breathing issues.

The purpose of rhinoplasty

At the Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh), numerous nose reshaping surgeries are performed by experienced and specialized surgeons following several preoperative consultations with the patient. Depending on the goal, the surgical techniques vary. The department’s medical team is skilled in performing a wide range of nasal corrections, including:

  1. Reducing or reconstructing the nose using implants
  2. Removing a nasal hump
  3. Adjusting the angle between the nose and the upper lip
  4. Narrowing the width of the nose
  5. Refining the nasal tip
  6. Defining the nasal root depression
  7. Correcting a deviated septum
  8. Reducing the size of the nasal turbinates

It should be noted that functional procedures to improve breathing can be combined with aesthetic rhinoplasty.

Who Is a Candidate for Rhinoplasty?

The ideal candidate is someone who seeks aesthetic improvement rather than perfection. A physically healthy, psychologically stable individual with realistic expectations is considered suitable for the surgery.
