ד"ר אסנת זמורה היא מנהלת המחלקה לניתוחי ילדים משנת 2017. היא גם אחראית על תוכנית ההתמחות במחלקה. ד"ר זמורה הינה מרצה בכירה בחוג לכירורגיה באוניברסיטת תל אביב. היא אחראית על בחינות ההתמחות בכירורגית ילדים בישראל.

ד"ר זמורה השלימה את לימודי הרפואה בטכניון והתמחות בכירורגיה כללית בחטיבה הכירורגית באיכילוב. לאחר מכן השלימה התמחות על בכירורגית ילדים באיכילוב ובבית החולים לילדים בלוס אנג'לס, שם שהתה במשך 4 שנים, תחילה כמתמחה צעירה וכחוקרת, ובהמשך בהתמחות על בכירורגית ילדים. לאחר חזרתה לבית החולים איכילוב שימשה כסגנית מנהל המחלקה לכירורגית ילדים שם, ובהמשך עבדה כרופאה בכירה במרכז הרפואי שיבא בתל השומר, שם הייתה אחראית על הכירורגיה האונקולוגית בילדים.

מחקר:

ד"ר זמורה פעילה במחקר בסיסי במעבדה ובמחקר קליני על ילדים במגוון מצבים רפואיים, כולל הובלה של מחקרים פרוספקטיביים, מחקרים מבוקרים, ומחקרים רב מרכזיים. בין תחומי המחקר הבסיסי במעבדה חוקרת ד"ר זמורה את מחלת ה NEC (Necrotizing EneteroColitis)- דלקת נמקית של המעי ממנה סובלים בעיקר פגים, ואשר עלולה להביא לתוצאות קשות בפגים רבים. היא חוקרת את מנגנוני הפגיעה במחלה ואמצעים למניעה ולטיפול במחלה. בין תחומי המחקר הנוספים חוקרת ד"ר זמורה דרכי אבחון טרום לידתיות של מומים שונים ואת המשמעויות של הממצאים המתגלים בבדיקות טרום לידתיות, על מנת לשפר את האבחון ואת ההערכות לטיפול לאחר הלידה.
